Health & Lifestyle – How can I earn activity points at home?

If you’re a Tru Wealth Health & Lifestyle client, chances are you will be wondering how you can still earn your weekly Vitality points during ‘lock down’. Besides from earning points, there are many good reasons for keeping up regular exercise – from reducing stress to increasing immunity – so how can you ensure you’re getting enough of it at home?

The good news is that Vitality have recently launched Vitality at Home, a range of initiatives that provide additional ways for you to keep active throughout this exceptional time. We’ve listed some of the available home workouts below:

Peloton Digital Membership

Peloton, which is known for its spin bikes, has launched a new app called ‘Peloton Digital’, which includes a suite of live and recorded workouts, including walking, yoga, strength training and cycling.

To help make it more rewarding to stay active at home, Vitality are giving members 120 days access to a Peloton Digital Membership. For every workout that lasts at least 20 minutes, you’ll earn 5 Vitality activity points. Or, if you track your workout with a heart rate monitor, you’ll earn up to 8 Vitality points for working out at 70% of your age-related heart rate for 30 minutes, or 60% of your age-related heart rate for 60 minutes.

Jennis

Workout with three-time world champion and Vitality ambassador Jessica Ennis-Hill right from your own living room. Vitality members can access a 12 month subscription to fitness, pregnancy and post-natal programmes on the Jennis app. Similar to above, you will need to workout for at least 20 minutes to receive 5 Vitality points, or earn up to 8 points when tracking with a heart rate monitor.

Track your workouts

To help you stay active while staying at home, Vitality members can receive up to 50% off selected Garmin and Polar activity trackers until 30th April 2020.

By tracking any workouts you do, including running or any other home based workout of your choice, you’ll earn up to 8 Vitality points for working out at 70% of your age-related heart rate for 30 minutes, or 60% of your age-related heart rate for 60 minutes.

This sounds great, but what rewards can I access at home?

Vitality at Home includes movies on-demand with Rakuten TV so you can enjoy up to two movie rentals a week as part of your Vitality membership. You just need to earn 12 activity points for your first movie and hit your maximum 40 activity points to get the second.
